Villa
I had always enjoyed seeing the Hoopoes when we visited Lanzarote; a cry of 'Hoopoe, Hoopoe' goes up in our car whenever we spot them - (much to the children's embarrassment).
Then just after we had bought the Villa, we were standing on the terrace, considering our good fortune, when a Hoopoe flew across the pool right up to us, hovered, apparently to have a good look at us and then zoomed off to the neighbouring open land. Thus we chose the name Casa Hoopoe.
We aim to provide a relaxing and peaceful home from home, a comfortable base from which to explore the island - when you can tear yourselves away from the pool and lounging on the terrace gazing out to sea.
The Villa
- The main Villa sleeps up to six with a master bedroom and ensuite shower, two spacious twin rooms (the beds in one convert to make a double) and family bathroom.
- The kitchen is large, with all mod. cons. and with windows that open directly on to the terrace, making dining alfresco simple. And you will have splendid sea views whist you are cooking!
- The lounge is cool and airy, with sky TV and plug-in internet access and the dining area has the sea and mountain views.
- The dining room leads on to the upper terrace with comfortable seating area, patio furniture and built in barbecue. The view is fabulous!
- There are steps down to the lower terrace and pool with plenty of room for sunbathing.
- The walled gardens surround the Villa and we are nurturing these for wildlife and as a private place to relax and unwind.
If you need more room you can rent the apartment as well (it is never let separately).
The Apartment
- The apartment is underneath the main Villa and has its own access.
- It has a double bedroom, living room with TV, kitchen and shower room.
- It also has its own patio and looks over the front gardens.
There is a private drive for off road parking. There is plenty of additional room for parking on the road, which is a dead end and so very quiet.
There is a travel cot and a highchair available if you need them.
Casa Hoopoe is very suitable for a family holiday. However we should point out that there are a number of steps between the main villa terrace and the pool terrace. They are a bit too wide to block with a stair gate so parents of toddlers will need to be vigilant.
